Listen to the Sounds From SpaceX's Falcon Heavy Launch
3 18 606

SpaceX launched its Falcon Heavy rocket for the first time on February 6th, and most people got to watch the launch online from SpaceX's live stream. While it looked fascinating from the computer screen, you may not have noticed that you missed a critical component: the sound.

This video utilizes binaural audio immersion to provide a clear audio experience tantamount to what you'd hear if you watched the launch in person. Note: decent-quality headphones are recommended for the best listening experience.

As the footage begins, you can hear all the camera shutters clicking, but it doesn't take long before they're drowned out by the powerful roaring Merlin engines that pushed Falcon Heavy into space.

Impressive? We thought so too.

Afterward, you can hear all six sonic booms from Falcon Heavy's two side boosters as they landed upright. Keep in mind that sound only travels so quickly, so there's a slight delay before you hear them.
